Shooting range Gaj is a sport-shooting stadium for clay piegeon shooting rifle and pistol Olympic disciplines.
It is located among the greenery of the Štajerska region with the panoramic view to the Pohorje hills and it is just 10 km away from Maribor.
The shooting range spreads over 22 hectares of enclosed area and consists of 7 fields, 5 ranges for TRAP, DOUBLE TRAP, AUTOMATIC TRAP, 5 ranges for SKEET and one saparated for TRAP, one HUNTERS PATH in combination with SKEET, final hall for rifle and pistol.
The shooting range is also equipped with nets for collesting pellets – lead, with over 80% or re-collect.
There is also a restaurant with 600 seats, a sport-hunting equipment shop, a workshop, an office and a parking space.
From September 1999, when the shooting centre was opened, unitill today, the sports centre has organized over 35 international competitions with about 25 participants from countries all over the world.
The shooting range has been visited in average by 1.000 shooters a month with the range record 125/125 (Final World Cup 2004) and 5 time World record during World Championship 2009.
Within the 20 km radius you can find accommodation on the slopes of Pohorje, where you can enjoy fresh morning air and be lulled to sleep in the evening by the secure rustling of pine forests. Finnish sauna, Turkish bath, wellness centres, fitness centre and health diagnostic centres with a wonderful array of gourmet delights.
The range Gaj is located about 12 km from Maribor, 120 km from the Ljubljana international airport and just 70 km away from Graz airport.
